Gregory M. Alvarez is an associate in WFBM’s general litigation department.  His practice includes all aspects of complex civil litigation including general business disputes, general liability defense matters and matters related to construction defect.  Gregory has been involved in matters ranging from individual disputes to multi-million dollar issues and has represented a wide variety of clients, including local entrepreneurs, business owners, general contractors and subcontractors.  He has experience with multi-party litigation and has participated in the successful resolution of these types of claims through informal negotiation, dispositive motives, and mediations.

Gregory was born and raised in southern California and attended the University of California, Irvine where he majored in Political Science.  During his time at UCI, Gregory was an active member of Sigma Nu, editor of the yearbook and served as a member of the UCI ASB.  During and after college, Gregory worked for several film and television production companies in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  He also spent considerable time working as a stage manager on live action shows and traveled with the productions both nationally and internationally.  It was during this time that Gregory obtained a Master in Fine Arts from Chapman University.

Looking for a new challenge, Gregory attended The Penn State, Dickinson School of Law where he obtained his JD.  During law school, he served as a member of the Student Bar Association and was an editor of the Journal of American Arbitration.  He was also actively involved in the various clinics at Penn State and in particular the Elder Law Clinic.  Currently, his areas of focus include general liability, business litigation and construction defect litigation.

When not at work, Gregory can be found out and about and is frequently seen kayaking in Newport Beach.
